PREVENT THAT BITE
In my extensive experience running seminars and workshops since 2009, I have observed a significant gap in educating children regarding the fundamentals of animal respect and care. This lack of awareness can lead to unfortunate incidents, such as preventable dog attacks and cruelty to animals underscoring the need for proper education that all animals are sentient beings.
My primary objective is to eradicate the cycle of cruelty and abuse that many animals endure, plus for children to love and enjoy their pets while learning responsibility.
With this in mind I conceptualized two books
• MARLEY SAYS... named after my Labrador named Marley. A multilingual colouring book with hand drawn pictures (by a local artist) that depict the right and wrong actions to not only treat animals, but to also recognise when an animal is being maltreated. (12 pages)
• PREVENT THAT BITE.(as illustrated) This informative book helps parents make the necessary decisions for their children and reasons for adopting a new pet. There are clear pictures giving advice to both children and parents which could prevent a tragic bite by creating awareness and alerting the parent of potential imminent disaster. Also actions to be taken in the event of a child being bitten. (16 pages)
My aim is to visit day care and Primary schools spending an exciting hour with the children. Marley will be in attendance for FREE HUGS. There are 270 Government Primary Schools with approximately 700 children in each school… 190,000 children….and this is just the Western Cape.
THE MAIN TARGET IS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE NATIONWIDE.
.
The course fee for each child is R150 for which they will receive both books, a smart certificate, a goody bag and refreshments while having fun learning with the aid of MARLEY how to respect, love and be safe around dogs.
PLEASE SPONSOR TWO CHILDREN FOR R200.00 as many parents are unable to afford to pay for this valuable learning time.
Donors may select a specific school and be present at the workshop.
Courses / workshops can also be held during school holidays at day care centres, libraries, church groups, as a theme for a birthday party and more.
